Our goal with this worldwide event is for organizations to provide hope, inspiration and excitement to their communities through the transformative power of musical theatre.
FROM THE DIRECTOR, MR. KLEMENTSEN:
We are incredibly excited to celebrate the return of live theatre at M-PHS with performances of MTI’s All Together Now! The past year has been a challenging time for everyone, particularly arts organizations. We look forward to welcoming our audiences back with this truly wonderful revue.
Before schools were moved to online only, we were one month away from presenting “Disney’s Freaky Friday” on stage. The sets were built, costumes were bought, lines and choreography were memorized and all we needed to do was work with the orchestra. We finally did the show in December of 2020, but we could only do it on Zoom with it’s limitations. Like all theatre companies at the time, we lost a lot of money on a show we didn’t get to perform. Unfortunately, we’ve always run on the business model that one show pays for the next. We didn’t have much money for the next show. We presented “Singin’ in the Rain” using Zoom in the spring.
This summer, MTI gave us the opportunity to present “MTI’s All Together Now!” for our fall production at no cost to us with the goal of raising enough money to put on a proper spring musical in 2022. This production marks the first time we’ll be performing back on stage and everyone is excited to be involved! Students have been working hard since the middle of September learning the songs and choreography to bring music and dance back to the M-PHS auditorium! “
Led by M-G student Jack Lawler, this production is largely a collaboration between M-P and M-G students. Student Annie Brediger led music rehearsals and other students were in charge of costumes, choreograpy, lighting and sound.
