Msvl. WA - Through a collaboration between Marysville School District’s Career and Technical Education, Athletic, Communication departments, and school staff; Adam Edinger, Ron Chapin, Ryan Beatty, Rocky Verbeck, James Barth, and Lexy Smith, an opportunity to provide middle and high school students to be part of the “Marysville Student Broadcasting Network” has been created.
The Marysville Student Broadcasting Network (MSBN) team held two informational meetings for students in grades 8 - 12 where students had an opportunity to learn about being part of MSBN production and broadcasting. Interested students were then invited to participate in three skill-intensive training sessions.
With the start of high school sports, the goal of MSBN is to live stream Varsity sporting events over the district’s Facebook, YouTube, and public channel. This will be especially helpful during the current COVID restrictions that prevent fans from attending events in person.
MSBN hopes to expand in the future by possibly adding JV and C squad games as well as events other than sports to their line up.
The first live events are scheduled for March 3, live streaming both girls’ soccer games when MP hosts Stanwood and MG hosts Arlington. Please remember that we are at the mercy of our connection and we may not be able to control data speeds. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we begin this new venture, and work through training our student-led MSBN team.
