Kindergarten Readiness Event Coming February 15, 2023!
Do you have a child who will turn five by August 31, 2023? The Marysville School District Kindergarten Readiness Night is coming February 15, 2023, 5:30 - 7:00 pm.
Kindergarten is an exciting time! Parents and guardians of children who are or will be five years old by August 31, 2023, are invited to the Kindergarten Readiness event scheduled for February 15.
Parents and guardians will learn what to prepare and expect for their child entering Kindergarten. Staff will be available to answer questions and provide resources. Each elementary school in the district will be represented.
Kindergarten Readiness is a term used for the preparation leading up to a child’s first year in elementary school. “There is not a specific set of developmental standards or milestones a child must meet to be able to attend Kindergarten; however, we do recommend working on promoting independence.” “In Kindergarten, we meet children where they are developmentally, socially, emotionally, and physically,” says Early Learning Center Principal Jennifer Cassarino, “if a child has specific needs or has an individualized education plan from preschool, the school staff team will work with the parents to determine what is needed for Kindergarten,” she added.
Kindergarten is a huge milestone in a child’s life. Help us spread the word in the Marysville and Tulalip community about the Kindergarten Readiness event on Tuesday, February 15, 2023, 5:30 - 7:00 pm, at the Marysville Pilchuck High School Commons located at 5611 108th Street NE, Marysville. The event will be open house style, but there is a planned presentation by Principal Cassarino at 6:00 pm. Marysville will kick off kindergarten registration in March during its “March Into Kindergarten” campaign.
