TO: Marysville School District Families, Staff, and Community
FR: Jason Thompson, Superintendent
Through our planning efforts to bring Pre, K, and 1st grade students back to school in a hybrid model during the first part of January, it has been determined it may not be possible to move forward at this time. The health and safety of our students, staff, and families continue to be a priority and with the number of positive COVID-19 on the rise in our community, the district may not transition to Step 3 outlined in the Reconnect Plan at this time.
The Marysville School District Board of Directors will hear a report at their next board meeting scheduled December 9. The Board will make a determination on moving forward at that time.
Some students continue to receive some in-person instruction, including students with disabilities, special needs, and those farthest from educational justice. All health and safety protocols are followed and students are monitored closely.
In the last update, linked HERE, I shared several pieces of information about tracking positive cases, cleaning and disinfecting, and more. Please review the information carefully and visit our COVID-19 Health and Safety protocols on the district website at www.msd25.org for more information.
Additional information for families:
Free Meals for students will continue through the end of the school year. Meals are served daily at each elementary site and through bus delivery to remote areas where there is not easy access to a neighborhood elementary school. Click HERE to access the bus schedule for meal services.
Winter Break begins with an early release on December 18, 2020, and goes through January 3, 2021. Online learning resumes on Monday, January 4, 2021.
Thank you in advance for your continued support and patience. We all would like nothing more than to bring students back to in-person instruction.
