TO: Marysville School District Families, Staff, and Community FR: Dr. Zac Robbins, Superintendent RE: School House Cafe The School House Cafe at Totem Middle School has been lovingly sought out among families, staff, and community members for several years. Unfortunately, the cafe could not open this school year due to dated, failing kitchen ventilation equipment and the inability to obtain and install the parts needed to make repairs. The district is actively working to remedy this situation. The Career and Technical Education (CTE) department oversees the cafe's day-to-day operations and knows this has disappointed community members and staff alike. CTE's goal is to ensure that the facilities are in the best possible condition and the program is fully staffed to provide its customers with high-quality service and the outstanding service everyone deserves and has come to expect at the School House Cafe. The educational program for culinary arts students continued during the cafe's closure, with students participating in other options, such as catering, to further their education and skills. The program began wrapping up in May as students completed their current projects. The Marysville School District and the CTE department look forward to the School House Cafe's full operation this fall. Thank you for your continued support and patronage of the School House Cafe!
