COVID-19 Information and Update

October 7, 2021

Marysville School District Families and Staff,

The District has been given the option from the Snohomish Health District to revise its quarantine protocol for students who are close contacts with no symptoms.

Effective October 11, on or after the fifth day of the quarantine, a parent/guardian can choose to have their child COVID-tested. The test must be a PCR test administered by a trained health professional, not a rapid test. To learn more about testing from the Snohomish Health District, click HERE. Parents and guardians also have the option to keep their child quarantined for the full ten days. No test is required for return after ten days as long as no symptoms are present.

If the result of the test is negative, your child may return to school after seven days with no symptoms and proof of a negative test is provided. The negative test result should be scanned and emailed to covid@msd25.org or brought to your child’s school where a copy of the results will be taken for your child’s health record. Once the results are reviewed and approved by school health personnel, you will be contacted with a return-to-school date.

Free PCR tests can be obtained at several drive-up locations. Click HERE to find a location nearest you. Testing by appointment is also available at the Snohomish Health District.

We are pleased to be provided this option to get students who are quarantined due to close contact and have no symptoms back to school as soon as possible.

Important Reminders:

  • This option is only for students who are quarantined due to close contact with a COVID-positive person and have no symptoms.

  • The test must be a PCR and done on or after the 5th day of quarantine.

  • Negative test results must be provided before the child returns to school.

  • If your child develops COVID-19 symptoms, they must remain in quarantine at home and the Health Reporting Form* completed.

    • *We have moved to one universal Health Reporting Form that will be used for students and staff at all school and district sites. The form and QR code is located on the school district website and each individual school website under the COVID Health and Safety tab.

  • If your child, you, or anyone in your family becomes ill, stay home.
