On Monday, August 19, 2024, during a work study session of the board of directors, Katie Henry, USI representative presented on the district’s insurance coverage. Ms. Henry explained each area of coverage in detail and responded to questions from the board members.
Effective September 1, 2024, the district is officially covered in each of the areas listed below:

In addition, USI will work with the district to expand risk management, Labor and Industries claims, cybersecurity, claims management services and guidance, and best practices for school and district leaders to mitigate risks overall. This will include a focus on policies, procedures, and training and support for district and school staff to assist in improving district-wide safety.
The annual cost of the insurance is $3.2M, which has been factored into the annual budget.
