High Schools See State Assessment Improvement in Student’s Scores
Data from the recent state assessments indicate a district-wide improvement in high school
students' test scores. More in-depth data will be made available later this summer.
Msvl. WA—Preliminary data results from the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBAC) are in, and we are excited to share that we are seeing an upward trend in the English and Math assessment scores from the 2023 to 2024 school years at all four high schools. Although we understand that schools are still working to meet their school improvement goals, this progress is a positive sign for our student's academic achievement. The improvement reflects positively on the entire Marysville School District community's hard work and dedication—teachers, staff, students, and families.
Notable achievements include Legacy High School’s double-digit percentage increase in English Language Arts proficiency and doubled Math scores. Also notable, Marysville Pilchuck High School's math scores nearly doubled.
While the data is preliminary and a more detailed analysis is forthcoming, this initial glimpse is a cause for celebration. Efforts to support students and their learning are paying off. This summer, the district will receive the complete results, providing a clearer picture of student performance across different subjects and populations. The data will be instrumental in guiding future strategies and ensuring continued academic growth for all students. In the meantime, let's use this positive news to motivate ourselves and our students, acknowledging their hard work and commitment to learning.
