This was not their first "Roadeo."

Saturday, May 6, three Marysville School District bus drivers - Darren Doty, David Rich, and Dave Dominguez, participated in the School Bus Roadeo Competition held by the Northwest Educational Service District (NWESD) 189.

Each year, our Transportation Department competes in the NWESD School Bus Roadeo. The main focus of a School Bus Roadeo is Safety. Contestants compete in multiple events to showcase their precise driving skills, including parallel parking, reversing in stall, student stop, and rail grade crossing. Roadeo drivers compete against other contestants from other districts in the NWESD.

Congratulations to David Rich, who won the 2nd place ROOKIE award. Kim McAbee, Transportation Director, says David "did an excellent job as a brand-new bus driver."

Congratulations to Dave Dominguez on winning 2nd overall and Daren Doty on winning 3rd overall.

Darren and Dave will attend the State Competition on June 25 in Kennewick, Washington, to represent the Marysville School District and the NWESD 189.
